Appliance Masters is based in Hollywood, Florida, so no address in the city is far from us. We repair refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges and microwaves from Hollywood Beach to Boulevard Heights, give the price before the work starts, and back every repair with a written warranty.
Joseph Young laid Hollywood out in the 1920s, and the city still runs along his line: Hollywood Boulevard from the ocean through Young Circle and on to the west side. The housing changes along it. Hollywood Beach is condos and small apartment buildings behind the Broadwalk, which runs about two and a half miles along the sand. Hollywood Lakes, between downtown and the Intracoastal, dates from that original plan. Hollywood Hills and Emerald Hills are single-family homes west of I-95, and Driftwood and Boulevard Heights continue the same pattern on the west side. For appliances that means two different jobs. At the beach the machine is stacked in a closet, shares a vent shaft and lives in salt air. Inland it stands in a garage or a utility room with space to work, and the question is more often whether an older unit is worth the part. We cover ZIP codes 33019, 33020, 33021, 33023 and 33024.
Common Appliance Issues in Hollywood
Water under the crisper drawers
In humid air the defrost drain of a refrigerator freezes over or clogs, and the melt water runs onto the floor of the fresh food section instead of the pan underneath. We clear the drain, check the drain heater and the door gaskets, and the puddle does not come back.
Washer and dryer stacked in a beach condo
A stacked pair has to come out of the closet for almost any repair, and it has to go back level or the washer walks on spin. We handle the removal and the reset, and while the dryer is out we check the vent to the shared shaft, the usual reason drying times double.
Salt air on boards and burners
East of the Intracoastal, salt settles on condenser coils, door hinges, control boards and the spark electrodes of gas burners. The signs are a refrigerator that never cycles off, a range that clicks without lighting, a display with dead segments. Cleaning saves some parts. Corroded boards and igniters are replaced.
Microwave runs but does not heat
The light is on, the plate turns, the food stays cold. The cause is in the high-voltage circuit: the magnetron, the diode, the capacitor or a door switch. Do not open the cabinet yourself, because the capacitor holds a charge after the plug is pulled. Over-the-range and built-in models are repaired in place.
Oven that runs hot or cold
An electric oven that burns one side and leaves the other pale has a failing bake element or a temperature sensor out of range. A gas oven that takes half an hour to preheat has a weak igniter. Both are tested with a meter, not guessed, and both parts are fitted on the first visit in most cases.
