The igniter has two jobs: to get hot and to draw enough current to open the safety valve. A worn igniter still glows orange but no longer opens the valve, so the oven stays cold or takes far too long to preheat. We measure the current and replace the igniter, not the valve it depends on.
Burners that keep clicking
Clicking that goes on after the flame is lit usually starts with moisture from cleaning or a boil-over. Let the burner dry and seat the cap squarely. If the clicking continues, the spark module or one of the igniter switches behind the knobs has failed.
Built-in refrigerator that runs warm
The condenser sits behind a grille, at the top or the bottom depending on the model, and collects dust until the refrigerator cannot shed heat. Cleaning comes first. Then the condenser fan, the evaporator fan and the door gaskets are tested, all without taking the unit out of its opening.
Oven temperature that drifts
Food that burns on one rack and stays pale on another points to the temperature sensor, the convection fan or a door gasket that no longer seals. We compare the set temperature with a reading inside the oven before anything is replaced.
Oven dead after a self-clean cycle
Self-cleaning is the hottest thing an oven does. A thermal fuse can open, or the door lock can stay engaged afterwards. Both are repairs, not reasons to replace the range.

Do you repair a Viking range without pulling it out?▼
In most cases, yes. Igniters, spark modules, switches, valves, oven elements and door parts are reached from the front or the top.
Why does my Viking burner click after it is lit?▼
Most often the electrode or the switch is wet. Dry the burner, reseat the cap and give it a few hours. Clicking that continues means the spark module or a switch needs replacing.
Do you service Viking built-in refrigerators?▼
Yes, in the opening. Condenser cleaning, fan motors, defrost parts, gaskets and controls are all done without removing the refrigerator from the cabinetry.
