An oven fails in a few recognizable ways: it stays cold, it heats to the wrong temperature, or it locks itself after a self-clean cycle and will not come back. Appliance Masters repairs range ovens, wall ovens and double ovens, gas and electric, in South Florida and Tampa Bay, and tells you the price before the repair begins.
Most Florida kitchens cook on electricity, and gas shows up mainly in professional-style ranges. The two fail differently. An electric oven heats with a bake element at the bottom and a broil element at the top, switched by relays on the control board. A gas oven lights through an igniter that has to get hot enough to open the gas valve. Wall ovens and double ovens add one more condition: they are fastened into the cabinetry, so the repair is done in the opening, with the door off and the oven pulled forward only as far as the wiring allows.
Common Oven/Stove Issues
Electric oven stays cold or heats slowly
If the broiler works and baking does not, the bake element has failed, and the break is often visible as a blister or a gap in the element. If neither heats, the fault is in the power supply, the control board relay or the temperature sensor. We test all three before a part is fitted.
Gas oven glows but does not light
The igniter glows orange, no flame follows, and there may be a faint smell of gas that clears. A worn igniter no longer draws the current that opens the valve. It is measured with a meter and replaced. The valve itself is rarely the cause.
Temperature that does not match the dial
Cakes that burn at the edge and stay raw in the middle point to the temperature sensor, a convection fan that has stopped or a door gasket that leaks heat. We compare the set temperature with a reading taken inside the oven and correct the cause, not the recipe.
Door locked or oven dead after self-clean
Self-cleaning runs the oven far hotter than cooking does. A thermal fuse can open and cut power to the oven, or the door lock motor can stop in the locked position. Both parts are replaced without replacing the oven.
Error code and beeping
Note the code, then switch the oven off at the breaker for one minute. If the code returns, the keypad, the sensor or the control board has failed. Tell us the code and the model number when you call, so the right part comes with the technician.

My oven heats unevenly. Can I keep using it?▼
It is safe, but it will get worse. Uneven heat is an early sign of a failing element, sensor or fan, and those repairs are smaller before the part fails completely.
Do you repair wall ovens and double ovens?▼
Yes, in place. The door comes off, the oven slides forward on its rails, and the parts are reached without removing the cabinetry.
I smell gas near the oven. What should I do?▼
If the smell is strong or does not clear, leave the house and call the gas company or 911 from outside. Call us after the supply has been declared safe, and we will find and repair the fault in the oven.
Can an oven control board be repaired?▼
The board is replaced as a unit. Before that we rule out the cheaper causes, the sensor and the keypad, because they produce the same error codes.
