The DishDrawer is the Fisher & Paykel machine with no counterpart. Each drawer is a complete dishwasher with its own motor, its own wash system and its own electronics. In a double model the two drawers are repaired separately. The motor sits under the tub, the lid comes down to seal the drawer when the cycle starts, and the hoses and wiring travel with the drawer each time it opens. Those moving parts are where a drawer dishwasher wears, and a technician who treats it as an ordinary dishwasher loses time. Fisher & Paykel refrigerators run on the ActiveSmart system, with sensors and fans that control each compartment on its own. We are an independent company: an appliance inside the manufacturer's warranty goes to Fisher & Paykel first.
Common Fisher & Paykel Appliance Issues
DishDrawer shows F1
The flood switch in the base has tripped. Water reached a place where it should not be, from a hose, a seal or simply foam from the wrong detergent. Turn off the water supply and do not keep restarting the cycle. We find the source, dry the base and run a full wash before we leave.
DishDrawer shows U1
A fill fault: the drawer did not get its water in time. Check that the supply tap is open and that the spray arm is seated and turns freely. If both are fine, the inlet valve or the hose that travels with the drawer needs testing.
DishDrawer shows U2, U4 or F2
U2 is a loading fault: something stands too tall and the lid cannot seal. U4 on a double model means the other drawer has a fault that blocks this one. F2 is a motor fault, and the motor is tested under the tub, not guessed at from the display.
Refrigerator with uneven temperatures
Warm shelves with a cold freezer point to a compartment fan, a damper or frost on the evaporator. We test each fan and sensor separately, since the two compartments are controlled separately, and check the door seals, which Florida humidity punishes first.
Range burner that clicks or an oven that will not heat
A burner that keeps clicking after it lights has a wet or dirty electrode, a faulty switch or a failing spark module. An oven that stays cold has lost its igniter or its element. The same applies to DCS ranges, which belong to Fisher & Paykel.

What does F1 mean on a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?▼
The flood switch has been activated: water or foam has reached the base of the drawer. Turn off the water supply and book a visit. Restarting the cycle does not clear the cause.
What does U1 mean?▼
The drawer is not filling. Open the supply tap fully, check the spray arm, and try again. If U1 returns, the inlet valve or the fill hose has failed.
Can one drawer of a double DishDrawer be repaired on its own?▼
Yes. The two drawers are separate dishwashers in one cabinet and are repaired separately. With most faults the other drawer stays usable. A flood fault stops both until it is cleared.
Do you repair DCS ranges?▼
Yes. DCS is part of Fisher & Paykel, and its ranges and cooktops are repaired the same way: igniters, spark modules, valves, oven elements and controls.
